Exilio Transitorio Remixes

Anthony Childs A big challenge to remix an album that already has great textures, distinctive beats, high tension, a message AND a theme. I do think the original vocal aspects could've been handled/utilized better in many cases, but mostly impressed with this selection and, again, Ninja Tune should've been all over this. Favorite track: Septembre (V.ictor Remix).

about

After Exilio Transitorio and Exilio Transitorio (Instrumentals), this last offering concludes the Exilio Transitorio trilogy. The album features a stellar line-up of producers: Witnessing, Aphir, Animal Party, YlangYlang, Indistinct voices over PA, V.ictor, T. Gowdy, Strangerfamiliar and Woulg. They all shed a new light on the compositions for what makes a highly diverse, original and breathtaking listen that ranges from experimental, to beats, to club music.

Exilio Transitorio was originally inspired by a book of poems that my father, Francisco Viñuela, wrote after his exile from Chile during Pinochet's coup d'état in 1973. The poems, written in Spanish and French, relate his exile from his country, and initiate a humanist reflection on the devastating effects of totalitarian regimes and political wars. Created as a cinematic journey, Exilio Transitorio serves as a soundtrack honoring my father’s book. It is meant to inspire deep reflection in the hope that we do not forget these events and find a better world.
